Electrician Edmonton

Older homes, new estates and everything in between.

G'day, I'm Lachlan from Flow State Electrics. I'm based in Mount Sheridan, just up the Bruce Highway from Edmonton, and I do electrical work for Edmonton homes and businesses. That covers generator changeovers before storm season, switchboard upgrades, smoke alarms and all the everyday repairs in between.

Working In Edmonton

Edmonton started out as a sugarcane district known as Hambledon, and that history is still easy to spot. The Historic Hambledon Hotel was first built in 1907, and Sugarworld sits on the site of the old Hambledon sugar mill.

Today it's a mix of older and newer homes. The Bruce Highway runs straight through the middle of the suburb, so getting to you from Mount Sheridan is an easy run south.

Older and newer homes need different things. An older house might still have ceramic fuses and no safety switches, while a newer one might just need extra power points, downlights or fans. I'll look at what you've got and give you a straight answer.

FAQ

Your Edmonton Questions Answered

Can you install a generator changeover switch at my Edmonton home?

Yes. The Electrical Safety Office says a generator should be connected to your house wiring through a changeover switch and proper inlet, installed by a licensed electrician. Never plug a generator into a power point, as it can cause dangerous back feeding.

My house still has old ceramic fuses. Does it need a new switchboard?

It's worth having a look. Ceramic fuses are an older style of protection, and many of those boards have few or no safety switches. I can replace them with RCBOs, which give each circuit its own safety switch and circuit breaker.

Do you work on newer homes in the Edmonton estates too?

Yes. Newer homes often just need extra power points, LED downlights, ceiling fans or a smoke alarm check, and I'm happy to help with all of those.

Do you do commercial work in Edmonton?

Yes, I do residential and commercial work. Get in touch with the details and I'll let you know how I can help.
